Terms of Service

Recast turns a source video you provide into (a) short-form video clips (for Reels, Shorts and similar) and (b) static images and carousels for social posts. It can also publish or schedule that content to social accounts you connect. We rely on third-party AI and infrastructure providers to deliver these features (see Section 8).

Access to Recast is onboarded and managed by our team — there is no self-serve signup or in-app payment in this version. Workspaces and roles are assigned by an administrator, and some accounts require approval before they can be used. You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract.

“Your Content” means the videos, images, text, brand assets and other materials you upload or link. You represent and warrant that you own or have all necessary rights, licenses and permissions to Your Content and to the source videos you submit, including any music, footage, logos, trademarks and the likeness of any person featured.

You grant Clara.ai a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, process, transform and transmit Your Content solely to operate and provide the service to you (including sending it to the third-party providers in Section 8). You are solely responsible for Your Content and for ensuring it does not infringe any rights or violate any law.

You own the output Recast generates from Your Content (the clips, captions, images and carousels), subject to your compliance with these Terms and any rights in the underlying source material. You are responsible for reviewing output before publishing it.

AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, may not be unique, and may resemble other content. Some AI images may include provider watermarks or metadata (for example, invisible AI-provenance markers). We do not warrant that output is original, accurate, non-infringing, or fit for any particular purpose, and you remain responsible for how you use it.

You agree not to use Recast to create, upload, generate, publish or distribute content that:

• infringes intellectual-property, privacy, publicity or other rights;
• is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, harassing, deceptive, or sexually exploitative;
• impersonates a real person without rights or consent, or is designed to mislead;
• violates the rules or terms of any connected platform (e.g. Instagram, YouTube, TikTok); or
• attempts to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service.

We may suspend or remove content or accounts that violate these Terms.

If you connect a social account (such as Instagram or YouTube), you authorize Recast to publish and schedule content to that account on your behalf, through our publishing provider. You are responsible for complying with each platform’s terms and policies. You can disconnect an account at any time, which revokes our ability to publish to it going forward.

Usage of AI features is metered against your plan. Plans, credits and any fees are arranged directly with Clara.ai; there is no self-serve billing in this version. We may meter and enforce usage limits, and may adjust plans on reasonable notice.

Recast depends on third-party providers to function, including: Vizard.ai (clip generation), Google Gemini and OpenAI (text and image generation), our publishing provider (social posting), Clerk (authentication), and Cloudflare R2 plus our database host (storage). Your use of these features is also subject to those providers’ terms, and Your Content may be processed by them to deliver the service. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

Recast, Clara.ai, the software, and all related branding and materials are owned by Clara.ai and its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights in our intellectual property except the limited right to use the service as permitted here.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that output will meet your requirements.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Clara.ai and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amounts you paid to us for the service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim (or, if none, INR 10,000).

You agree to indemnify and hold Clara.ai harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities and expenses arising out of Your Content, your use of the service, your connected accounts, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or to comply with the law. You may stop using the service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service.
